Puffing Billy Steam Railway is located in the magnificent Dandenong Ranges and is only a one hour drive east of Melbourne or 40 minutes from the Yarra Valley. This century-old steam train continues to run on its original mountain track between Belgrave and Gembrook.
Puffing Billy offers a unique activity that transports delegates out of the conference room and back in time!

Dining Carriages - travel first class in our heritage dining carriages. Each carriage seats 20 people and there are four interconnected carriages (maximum of 80 people). The dining carriages are heated in winter and offer a relaxed and comfortable journey though the forests and fern gullies. Alcoholic beverages are available including locally produced wine and beer.
These dining carriages are available for our Steam & Cuisine Luncheon departs daily at 12.30pm and returns at 3.30pm) with a sumptuous choice of three of two course menus available. Guests travel from Belgrave to our Lakeside Station (located within Emerald Lake Park). At the park, passengers can disembark the train and stretch their legs, before returning to Belgrave.
These dining carriages are also available for Evening Charter Trains. During the forward journey, entrees will be served before disembarking the train at the historic 'Nobelius Packing Shed' in Emerald (a 45 minute train journey). Mains and dessert are served in the Packing Shed with a selection of entertainment options available. On the return journey to Belgrave, tea, coffee and dinner chocolates are served. Maximum seating capacity in the Packing Shed is 80 people.
Excursion Trains – This is the traditional way that people have been travelling on Puffing Billy for over 100 years. Board the train in Belgrave and travel to Lakeside Station (located within Emerald Lake Park). Delegates will be invigorated by the fresh air and will feel like a child again as they dangle their legs over the side of the carriage, whilst the train journeys through the lush countryside. A minimum of 4 trains depart Belgrave daily alternatively, you can charter your own train. Maximum passengers per train is 250.
